Unified Storage

Unified Storage

WBSAirback includes through this module all the tools needed to manage storage resources in an organization. Through a unified view, it is possible to use the same by the other WBSAirback modules, or simply to be exported through various protocols to other systems. Manage information storage may be located outside WBSAirback and / or WBSAirback own internal storage. The following are the main features of the module "Unified Storage".

Architecture

  • The module manages the internal and external heterogeneous storage devices block based (or DAS storage as iSCSI SAN / FC) so that it can be a global aggregate view of all the devices you want.
  • On each aggregate view can define multiple logical volumes that can be accessed in block mode (iSCSI) or file mode (NFS / CIFS / FTP).

Storage management features

  • Heterogeneous storage management of block based devices: DAS or SAN (iSCSI / FC).

Enterprise Protection

Enterprise Protection

WBSAirback incorporated through this module all the tools necessary to protect an organization's information and retrieve it when and where desired. The information to be protected in storage may be located outside WBSAirback and / or WBSAirback managed storage module through its "Unified Storage". Similarly, the information can be protected WBSAirback outside storage and / or managed storage WBSAirback. The following are the main features of the module "Enterprise Protection".

Architecture

  • Multi-layer architecture provides a solution for backups in simple or in highly complex multi-site environments, multi-agency, multi-device, allowing for growth without increasing license fees for it.
  • The architecture allows backups across the LAN / WAN, LAN-Free backups across SANs or local devices, and backups of NAS devices.
  • Supports heterogeneous devices such as tape drives, local storage, iSCSI LUNs / FC SAN, NAS (NFS / CIFS / etc), tape libraries, VTLs, etc..
  • Multiplexing devices (sharing the same device concurrently).
  • Cross Platform: Supports multitude of operating systems and applications through specific agents.

Continuous ProtectionContinuous Protection

This module is optional, unlike the previous ones, is not enabled in the product core. The acquisition of this feature is under license of use.

WBSAirback incorporated through this module all the tools necessary to protect an organization's information continuously and to provide availability of points of information retrieval closer in time than those offered by the module "Enterprise Protection".

The information to be protected in storage should be located outside WBSAirback. The information is protected in storage module managed by the "Unified Storage" of WBSAirback. The following are the main features of the module "Continuous Protection".

Architecture

  • The module is built upon a "Client / Server". Secure on communication is established between the agent is installed on each system to protect and central management console module, and through the same data is sent to copy or backup.
  • After completing an initial replication of all data volumes desired module "Unified Storage" of WBSAirback can be completed virtual full backups in minutes. The data is protected at the block level and these are stored only once in all the recovery points to increase storage efficiency.
  • The systems are currently supported servers and Windows workstations, Linux, Mac and Unix..

Recovery and protection features

  • The central console module is integrated into WBSAirback, and as such is accessible via web through a browser.
  • Centralized console to manage the policies, quotas, users, etc.
  • The copying is done based on a virtual copy system based on "delta-blocks".
  • It has an advanced copies and scheduling delays.
  • Data recovery is performed in whole or granular through the history of information.

  • It integrates with Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS), allowing the synchronization of VSS aware applications like SQL Server, Exchange Server and SharePoint. VSS is also used to provide online backup to disk volumes on servers and workstations from Microsoft Windows.
  • Allows for consistency of copies of MySQL.
  • Supports open files.
  • Supports flexible methods of disaster recovery (among others allows Baremetal Recovery).

Advanced features

  • Continuous export of backup copies of greater retention (through module functions "Enterprise Protection" WBSAirback).
  • Optional compression of information copies in origin.
